The MK-80 model is a Strat style guitar with a modern update, based on the guitar Rudy Pensa supplied Mark Knopfler in 1980 prior to Dire Straits going into the studio to record Making Movies. The MK-80 comes with a Chambered Mahogany body for added weight relief. The electronics on the MK-80 come with the option of having tapped Gemini Pickups with 3x3 way toggle switches for each individual pickup, allowing the player to activate any or all pickups, to switch between a thicker output and regular output, expanding tonal possibilities and pickup options. . The MK-80 comes with a Fender style scale length and a Vintage style 6 screw tremolo bridge.
